When a disturbing or traumatic event occurs, it’s very easy to interpret it as a sin of our helplessness, culpability or weakness. We feel powerless to prevent the tragedy and feel deficient for that lack of control. It is important to find a more realistic and healthy way to make sense of the occurrence so that we emerge feeling capable, strong and whole.
